DmC PC Rumble Issue Still Broken, Fix Incoming

February 6, 2013 by Alex Co

The PC version of DmC still has an issue when it comes to controller vibration but Capcom says a fix is incoming…

Last week, Capcom released a hefty 1GB patch for the PC version of Ninja Theory's Devil May Cry reboot, DmC. While patches are normally released to fix any bugs that escaped quality assurance, the recent patch brought in a new one that made controllers connected to the PC lose rumble functionality in the game.

For most games, this shouldn't be that big of a deal, but since DmC uses the rumble as part of its gameplay to let players transition into combos, one can see why this might be game-breaking to some.

Fortunately, Capcom is aware of the issue and will roll out a patch soon. Here's a statement the publisher made regarding the issue (via IGN):

A bug in the latest update for the PC version of DmC Devil May Cry has affected the rumble feature for users who use controllers connected to the PC. Capcom is working diligently to fix the issue as quickly as possible.

While no firm patch date has been released, I expect this one will be out sooner rather than later. I mean, it's not like Capcom has to undergo any certification policies from Microsoft and Sony to make this happen. So sit tight, DmC PC fans. Until then, try to see how high you can get a combo even without rumble.

In other DmC news, Capcom has slashed their sales forecast for the game by a significant 800,000 units due to the game's weak debut.
