Muramasa Port For The Vita Is Coming To The US Courtesy Of Aksys

January 30, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

One of the best of the Wii might be one of the best for the Vita.

One of the best action games for Wii, one that sadly did not get nearly as much play as it should have, is coming to the Vita. Where it will hopefully find the audience it deserves (though feel free to insert your comment or joke about the Vita's less than stellar install base here).

According to Siliconera, the Vita port of Muramasa: The Demon Blade will be distributed in the United States by Aksys Games. The original, again for the Wii, was brought to the west via Ignition Entertainment.

Many criticized Ignition for doing almost nothing to promote that release, plus its print run was fairly meager, hence why hardly anyone played it the first time around. Hopefully Aksys will fare better.

As with the Wii version, only the text will be localized, meaning all the Japanese voice work will be in tact. Given that it's a VERY Japanese game, that's a good thing. And since a different publisher is in charge, expect a slightly different translation. Not that there was anything wrong with Ignition's effort.

It's also expected to be largely the same game as before, except the already beautiful graphics will be prettier, thanks to the Vita's gorgeous (and high res) display. Controls will also be enhanced, plus there will be additional characters and scenarios. No release date has been given.
