Sony has announced that Naughty Dog's upcoming PS3-exclusive title, The Last of Us, will be getting an early demo release to accompany the retail version of God of War: Ascension. The announcement was released with an image of Joel laying his fist into a dude.
The upcoming God of War game will be bundled with access to a chapter of The Last of Us in every copy. The demo itself isn't expected to be available upon the release of God of War: Ascension, but information about the game's availability will be listed on the main menu prior to launching the game.
Sony wrote on the official PlayStation blog: "Just load the God of War: Ascension disc into your PS3 and find The Last of Us listing on the main menu. There, you’ll find details on how you can obtain The Last of Us demo for free as soon as it becomes available."
Sony has not declared whether the demo will be entirely exclusive to owners of God of War: Ascension, or whether they plan to release it to everyone else at a later date. Given the popularity of both games, I'm hedging my bets on the former being the case.
God of War: Ascension comes out on March 12 in North America and a day later in Europe. The Last of Us will only be available on March 7.
