If you've been following the story of the allegedly wrongly imprisoned ArmA 3 developers who were arrested in Greece during a vacation, then you'll remember that they were denied bail back in November of 2012. Things looked bleak then, with the two set to face trial and reportedly in abysmal conditions for months.
But now the situation has turned around, as bail as been offered to the men. If the pair pays €5,000, they can return home to the Czech Republic. The deal was reached through long negotiations between the Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and the Czech counterpart. So can they come up with the cash? According to Miloš KuÄera, Czech Republic's deputy ambassador in Greece, their families do.
“We have an unconfirmed report that both families have the money available and are discussing transferring the money to Greece with their attorney.”
Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar still must attend the Greek court hearings in the future, but there is no doubt the men and their families are happy for this one small victory. Despite uncertain circumstances, the developers thanked their supporters back in November, saying they were thankful they were "not forgotten".
