Amazon Instant Video is now available for Nintendo Wii owners in the US. The app is a free download from the Wii Shop Channel, and once you've got it (and registered your Wii console with its serial number) you'll apparently be able to access over 140,000 movies and TV episodes.
Amazon Instant Video has some pretty cool features – TV episodes are available the day after they air, and you can watch content on one device and pick up where you left off on another – which makes me that much more annoyed that it isn't available in the UK.
Amazon Prime members get unlimited access to “over 30,000 Prime Instant Video titles” for free (once they've paid for Prime, of course). But for everyone else, you can just choose whether to buy titles or rent them for 30 days.
The Wii U got Amazon Instant Video back in November, so it's good of Amazon to work to bring the service to the older Wii as well. A lot of families still use as a Wii as their only games console, and probably still will for a good while yet.
Any of you planning on using Instant Video on your Wii? Or would you rather watch on your 360 or PS3?
