Two horses, one fine comic. Dark Horse Comics, the folks behind a wide range of much beloved graphic novels and art books spanning almost every genre of games, are teaming up again with Spicy Horse to bring us a new tome to love. Having previously penned materials for Alice: Madness Returns, this time they're set to release a comic book for the upcoming ARPG Akaneiro: Demon Hunter. Featuring the writing of Justin Aclin, who previously worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and illustrations by Vasilis Lolos, who worked on Conan the Barbarian, this series will feature three parts and debut this upcoming May 22. Says the man American McGee himself:
“… I’m thrilled to be working again with the rocket-scientist sex machines at Dark Horse. Our previous collaborations with Dark Horse have produced stunning results, like the art book for Alice: Madness Returns. It’s a perfect marriage of art and execution.”
Akaneiro: Demon Hunter is currently in open beta and thus far has raised about $60,000 of the intended $200,000 goal in its Kickstarter campaign. As previously reported, the campaign is intended to raise funds for additional features, and is not necessary for release, which is expected this month.
