Skyrim Mod Introduces a New Settlement Called Syercote

January 6, 2013 by Alex Co

This new settlement mod for Skyrim looks fantastic! See for yourself.

While Bethesda's Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim isn't exactly lacking in any mods, the one shown below should particularly be exciting for Skyrim fans since it introduces an all-new settlement for the game and it even has talking NPCs, shops and quests, too!

This new settlement is called Syerscot and is made by modder Samv96UKK. It will include new houses, shops, NPCs. a purchasable and upgradeable player home and two new quests to determine the "owning" faction of Syerscote!

Here are some of the game's info for you to peruse (via SkyrimNexus).

The Quests

There are two quests in Syerscote-

-Keeping Control: Help the Mayor of Syerscote and the Imperials keep control over Syerscote by locating a Stormcloak Spy. Start this quest by asking the Mayor about Stormcloak presence in Syerscote.

-For Ulfric!: Assist the Stormcloaks by taking the Settlement for the rebel forces and putting down any opposition. Start this quest by killing the Mayor of Syerscote.

The House

To purchase the house, speak to the Steward in Syerscote Manor. You can buy the keys for 4000 Gold. You will then be able to upgrade:

-The Living area

-The Dining Table

-The Bedroom

-The Study

And Also purchase:

-An Alchemy Crafting Station

-An Armour improvement Hammer (Works the same as an armour Workbench)

The NPC's

There are several NPC's in the village, which include:

-3 Town Guards

-Crassius/Hulgard: Mayor

-Seguri/Kolfhe: Steward

-Cydna Noble-Heart: Court Wizard, Spell merchant

-Bur-za: Beggar

-Relianne: Alchemy merchant

-Hickim: Blacksmith

-Suleem: Blacksmith merchant

-Turena: Ore/Ingot merchant

-Sabrinda: Food merchant

-Malpen: Food merchant

-Viania: General Goods merchant

-Elfid: Innkeeper merchant, Speech Trainer

-Ol Capt'n Sham: Villager

-Falced: Follower of Mara

-Fralvia: Bard

Excited for it yet? Here's a walkthrough video where you can see how well-made the mod is, and eve hear how the voice-acting in it is even on par with what Bethesda has pulled off.

The best thing here is you don't even need any of Skyrim's expansions to play it. Just have the vanilla version patched to 1.8.151.0.7 and you're good to go!

Quite impressive, I admit. If you want more Skyrim mods, we have one that makes fire look better, and another one showing you new gear.

Anyone up to trying this yet? If so, let us know how it plays in the comments.
