With Dead Space 3's release just two months away, Visceral has now released a new story trailer called "The Story so Far" that — you guessed it — tells us what the story of Dead Space is so far.
It recaps Dead Space 1 and 2's story into a neat 3:30 video which might not reveal every single detail, but the overall gist of it is there. Needless to say, if you've yet to finish Dead Space 1 or 2, you won't want to watch this as it's rife with spoilers. For those that need a refresher before the third game hits (like me), the trailer reminds you of the big plot points but the rest of the tiny details are left for you to remember.
In the last seconds of the video, Visceral ties Dead Space 3 into the first two games' story quite nicely. We now know exactly why Isaac Clarke and his new partner John Carver must travel to the snowy planet of Tau Volantis and what might be in store for them there.
I admit, after watching that trailer, it really gave me an itch to play Dead Space 2 again. Just to experience all the harrowing details and Necromorph-phoba I developed once I finished Dead Space 2 on the hardest difficulty setting.
For those that finished the first two games, where do you want to see Dead Space 3 go and do you think there's more to the Marker than what's revealed so far? Could humans really use it to harness unlimited energy like they originally intended?
Dead Space 3 is set for a February 5, 2013 release for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
