Mass Effect 3 Operation: Prophecy Will Be the Last Multiplayer Challenge for the Year

December 21, 2012 by Alex Co

BioWare has revealed Operation: Prophecy — the last multiplayer challenge for the year.

Earlier this week, we reported that BioWare is closing down their offices on December 21 for the holidays. But before they do, they're holding one more multiplayer challenge before calling it a year.

Called Operation: Prophecy, it's slated to start this weekend and will end right before Christmas Eve. You can check out the event description below.

Our successes on Earth have given us the capability to land materiel in several war zones. However, in order to conceal shipments to the resistance, each delivery needs corresponding strikes on Reaper targets to create a screening distraction. The operations to deliberately gain Reaper attention are extremely high-risk and will require increased numbers to spread thin Reaper reaction forces. For this mission, N7 commanders, wherever possible, will recruit and command supplemental volunteer units: recent graduates of our N7 program and soldiers who bring experience from other branches.

Seeing as this is the final multiplayer event for 2012, BioWare is making it extra special compared to the usual N7 Bounty Weekends prior to it. So instead of completing just one challenge, BioWare has two challenges which will net players two prizes.

For the first challenge, users must play on the Earth map (London, Vancouver and Rio) and pull of an extraction. In the second challenge, players must score 100,000 cumulative points against Reaper enemies in any location.

Completing both challenges will not only net you a Commendation Pack, but also of a new banner which shows the "Hero of the Last Days." Quite fitting since this is the end of 2012.

As always, make sure the player feedback is turned on in the options to make sure your stats are saved and your participation is recorded.

Stay frosty, N7 troops, 2013 is but a two weeks away and multiplayer challenges should be back then by that time.
