As part of 343 Industries' weekly Halo Bulletin, the studio has announced its plans to update Halo 4's matchmaking playlist next week. With the Halo 4 Infinity Challenge beginning in a few days time, 343 will be removing Team Slayer Pro this coming Monday, with plans to bring it back next year after it's fine-tuned and made better than it currently is.
The studio also announced that it plans to add Double Team, Grifball and the addition of many more small maps into Matchmaking in early 2013. It's an important update for anyone who's been waiting for details about their plans for the game.
The matchmaking playlist will be focused on the Infinity challenge from December 17 to January 19, so expect a different rotation of maps during that period of time.
343 also provided an update about the status of the in-game File Share, which currently remains offline. The system will be enabled in early 2013 with both search and web access so players will be able to upload, download, and share their screenshots and replays through the game and through the online web service on the Halo Waypoint. The studio says that it has plans to launch the services up with some contests and activities to make it worth our while.
Be sure to hit the bulletin for an interview with Halo 4's creative director Josh Holmes, who answers some questions about how he got involved with Halo and what his plans are for the game next year.
As always, the update comes with a bunch of hidden text, which you can read below:
