Wild interactive movie Night Trap is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC in August, developer Screaming Villains has confirmed. Previously confined to PS4, the remastered version of Night Trap is a 25 year celebration of its anti-vampire crusade, and curiously enough it’s being rated as ‘T’ for Teen.
Night Trap created uproar upon its initial release in the early 1990s, with critics like Joe Lieberman claiming the game promoted gratuitous violence and sexual aggression against women. Along with the original Mortal Kombat, it contributed to the formation of the ESRB that slaps ratings on video games today.
Night Trap is expected to release digitally for PS4 and PC on August 15. Physical versions will be available from August 11. Limited run versions of the Standard Edition and Collectors Edition will come with full-colour manuals, reversible art and a large fold-out poster. Screaming Villains says it is planning to bring Night Trap to Xbox One ‘soon’.
