Bioshock Infinite Release Delayed Yet Again

The release of Bioshock Infinite has been delayed yet again.

Irrational Games has issued yet another delay of their long-awaited Bioshock Infinite. The game, which was originally planned for an October 2012 release, had since been delayed to February 2013. That date has been moved back by yet another month, to March 2013. Hopefully, it'll be the last delay the game faces before we'll be able to get our hands on it for real.

The game's delay was explained by Executive VP of Development Rob Fergusson, formerly of Epic Games, who allegedly "fell in love with" the game when he sat down to play it for the first time and decided that the team could use an extra month of development time to polish the game and make it as good as it could be, before releasing it.

According to VentureBeat, Fergusson booked a hotel room on the street opposite Irrational to oversee the game as it approaches its final stages of development. The studio is reported to be using the extra time to fix bugs and put on a few final coats of polish before releasing it to the public.

As one of the most anticipated titles of 2013, we can only hope that the game lives up to the hype and to that of its two predecessors in the series, which are among a couple of the best games ever made.

Bioshock Infinite is set to be given a preview at the upcoming Video Game Awards, where a new trailer is expected to be shown. The studio also recently announced its collaboration with videogame cosplayer Anna Moleva for her portrayal of one of the game's main characters, Elizabeth. 

The game will be out on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
