We've know for some time that Sanrio and Capcom were going to be teaming up to present Hello Kitty X Street Fighter. But those assuming that it was going to be a limited engagement, in the form of some designer toys and that's it (which is usually the case with such deals), are in for a surprise.
Both companies are clearly out to make a mountain of money in the form of an onslaught of merchandise. First we have a number of cross over figures that go beyond the Hello Kitty-fied Chun Li that most have seen already. Hello Kitty as Cammy makes sense. But Hello Kitty as Zangief? Why not Bad Badtz-Maru as Zangief?
Not only will the combination come in the form of hard plastic figures, but plushies as well, plus coin purses. The first wave (or presumably many) can be pre-ordered via Big Bad Toy Store, though Sanrio X Street Fighter goods can also be acquired in the real word, at Hot Topic and Toys R Us.
