Microsoft has announced some great news for Halo fans: Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4, all with their subsequent DLCs, will be available on Xbox One via its backwards compatibility program.
Both the campaign, multiplayer and LAN will all be supported, even when playing between Xbox One and Xbox 360. Whether it’s a digital copy of the game or the original disc, you can start playing immediately. Furthermore, if you don’t own the DLC for any of the Halo titles, Microsoft is providing it all for free.
Regarding performance and graphical enhancements, Arstechnia reached out to 343 Industries about the possibility of 4K patches and general enhancements.
‘We’ve made a host of significant improvements to Halo: The Master Chief Collection since the initial launch in 2014, and while the majority of players enjoy the game regularly, any issues or interruption in play is something we continue to keep a close eye on. That said, we do not have any additional updates planned in the near term, at this moment.’
In other news, Halo developers, 343 Industries have officially endorsed the creation of Installation 01.
343 Industries, the creators of the popular sci-fi shooter series Halo, have endorsed Installation 01, the fan-made Halo game, making the project protected by law and indefinitely continuing.
Taking to their blog the team noted that they have always wanted to maintain in the legal bounds when creating this title. They noted that they were constantly sharing information with 343 industries with no responses, until now.
