Sony’s PS4 is becoming arguably one of the best consoles to ever launch, what with the host of critically acclaimed exclusives such as Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us and the most recent Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, it feels almost as if Sony is trampling Microsoft’s console counter, the Xbox One.
Twitter user, Daniel Ahmed posted a comparison graph of how the console is performing in comparison to the previous generation PS3 and Xbox 360. The graph showcases PS4 total shipments of 60m in comparison the PS3’s 35.7m and the Xbox 360’s 30.2m.

While it’s important to note that shipments don’t necessarily constitute sales, it’s still a pretty good indication of how Sony is performing financially.
Ahmed later went on to post another graph indicating how well the PS4 is doing compared to both the Xbox 360 and PS3 shipments combined – and it’s still pretty surprising.
Here is a look at the same chart as above but with PS3 & 360 shipments combined.

Big ups to Sony’s brilliant marketing and well-timed releases of the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim. It will definitely be interesting to see how well Microsoft will be doing with the launch of the world most powerful Xbox One X in the coming months – but in my opinion, it’s too late for Microsoft.
