Halo 4 is Getting New Multiplayer Modes: Oddball and King of the Hill FFA Variants

November 22, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Free-for-all variants of the Oddball and KOTH modes are coming to Halo 4.

Halo 4 is getting an update that's set to add new gameplay modes for its Infinity Multiplayer, with some changes in store for both Oddball and King of the Hill modes.

The new playlist is called FFA Throwback, which adds solo variants of both Oddball and King of the Hill modes, allowing players to partake in these games of skill alone and without the aid of a team.

"If you've been dominating these modes with teammates, see how the game changes when it's every Spartan for themselves," wrote Jessica Shea on 343's official Halo Waypoint.

The maps available in FFA Throwback will include Haven, Adrift, Complex, Solace, and Abandon, hosting up to eight players in the new free-for-all modes.

To win, you must score 100 points on Oddball and 50 on King of the Hill under a 12 minute time limit.

It's fantastic news for anyone who wants to try their skills alone without having the benefit of a squad to back you up.
