Sony has announced that the rumored Gold Slim PS4 is indeed real and is set to release this week on June 9.
As the rumors suggested, the Gold PS4 will be priced at $249.99 and will come with a 1TB storage drive. Sony also managed to announce a new event for their fans this week called Days of Play.
The event will start this Friday and will run until June 17. During this selected time period, PlayStation users will receive special deals on the latest games and accessories for the PlayStation 4. Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe President Jim Ryan told Glixel the following:
The PlayStation Store will see something cheap every day. We’re intrigued to see how people respond to the event at a time that’s traditionally very quiet for games. We’re going to have some really good deals.
However, if you are interested in the Gold variant PS4 model you’ll have to pick it up during the Days of Play event time period as this is a limited edition console. After the selected time, June 9-17, the console will not be sold again.
