Logitech G413 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

April 30, 2017 by Adam Priest

Logitech’s G413 is a great gaming keyboard for gamers on a budget.

Logitech makes good products and the G413 is no exception. It’s their budget mechanical keyboard and it doesn’t sacrifice quality for a cheaper price—holding up to many other peripheral companies’ offerings for easily half the money, if you don’t mind losing out on mostly vanity customization options.

The G413 is made of aluminum and comes in two different colors: carbon and silver. The silver is beautiful and it stands out, it’s the review copy we got to check out.   It’s a full-sized keyboard with no macros or extra keys.  The keys are the Romer-G switches. They hold up well, they’re much quieter than other mechanical switches, and they have satisfying feedback.

There’s also a notable USB pass-through along with a groove to help organize your cables, a small but important feature that makes cord management smooth.

While it’s not very customizable, Logitech’s drivers allow users to remap their keys and change the intensity of the lighting. The backlights are locked to their respective red and white colors, however, and the utility is less than of their keyboards.

The bottom-line is that it’s a solid keyboard. If you don’t want macros and you have no interest in RGB lighting, this is the keyboard for you; it will perform as well as any gaming keyboard you can buy and it’s much cheaper. It’s just as good if looks don’t mean everything—and it looks pretty sleek as it is, especially if you can pick up the silver version.
