Take-Two Aiming to Open Las Vegas Office, Will Bring in 150 New Jobs

November 2, 2012 by Alex Co

Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games, is looking to open a new office in Las Vegas.

Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games, is in talks to open a new downtown Las Vegas office, which will bring in at least 150 new jobs in the area.

The Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency is even offering up to $600,000 in incentives for the publisher if they open its first Las Vegas branch according to the official proposal documents.

While Take-Two has not revealed what this new office would be for, the proposal documents do reveal that the median range of Take-Two's Las Vegas employees would be at $18 per hour, which suggests that the office will likely be used for Quality Assurance (QA) work.

Could this somehow be tied into Grand Theft Auto 5? W can't say for sure, we do know that Rockstar is ramping up marketing for the game. It's scheduled second trailer was unfortunately delayed to Hurricane Sandy knocking power out in New York; but that hasn't stopped retailers from offering GTA 5's Photo Viewer pre-order bonus which you can see here.

With the deluge of studio closure news, it's refreshing to hear that a publisher is looking to expand which will need new personnel. Hopefully, some of those affected can find a new home in Las Vegas if this proposal pans out.

Thanks, Gamasutra
