Nintendo is set to follow up the phenomenon of the Classic NES Mini with a SNES Mini.
This news stems from Eurogamer, where sources close to the company confirmed the SNES Mini. Earlier today, we saw that Nintendo had officially closed production of the classic NES mini worldwide, meaning anyone looking to get their hands on one will most likely need to go through scalpers.
Eurogamer states the SNES mini will be released in time for Christmas 2017, with development on the project underway right now. Hopefully, Nintendo plays this mini console a little smarter and produce a lot more consoles as the NES was a must have for all Nintendo fans.
Gamers should be very excited to hear this news as the SNES was a console with much better games. As Eurogamer mentions, the software lineup for the SNES is significantly better. Just look at some of the notable games for the console:
A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid, Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World, as well as Earthbound, Star Fox and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. The console also had some of the best RPGs of the era, including Square’s Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana.
