In my personal opinion, demos are not the most talked about thing these days within the video game industry. While they are certainly not uncommon, most often we see demos being displayed as a beta. It is, however, rare to see a demo launch similar to what Bethesda is doing with Prey.
The video game demo will release on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but not the PC platform. Interestingly enough, it will launch before Prey which is different than how Dishonored 2’s demo popped up.
Bethesda opted to hold off on a demo for Dishonored 2 until after the game launched in order to seek a second wave of sales. With Prey, gamers will have a whole hour of gameplay available, which will likely end at a significant event causing players to pick the game up and see where the narrative takes them.
At this time, we’re unsure as to if those who purchase the game after completing the demo will have their save file brought over to their purchased game.
At any rate, the demo, known as Prey Demo: Opening Hour, will put players in the role of Morgan Yu on April 27, 2017. For those who find the game of interest can purchase the title when it launches globally for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and lastly the PC this May 5, 2017.
In the meantime, take a look at the demo trailer for Prey up above along with the game gallery down below.
