Sony is teaming up with GameStop to give players the chance to play as King Leonidas in God of War: Ascension. Just in case you're wondering, yes, this is the same King Leonidas portrayed by Gerard Butler in the blockbuster film 300.
If you pre-order the standard or collector's edition of God of War: Ascension at GameStop, you'll receive a voucher code that gives you access to King Leonidas in multiplayer. For those wondering, this won't be a cheap skin swap, as King Leonidas will have his own set of combat moves in addition to donning his iconic helmet, armor and cape.
Is that not enough? In addition to King Leonidas, people who pre-order from the mega-retailer will also recieve an exclusive double-sided God of War: Ascension poster which you can see below.
So, if playing a musclebound, angry Spartan isn't enough, why not up the ante with another musclebound, angry Spartan, no?
God of War: Ascension is slated for a March, 2013 release exclusively for the PS3.
Is this a good cross-promo or just a tad too little too late?
