In development since 2014, 2D melee roguelike Ruin of the Reckless has finally locked in a release date and is set to bring its retro-style brawling to personal computers near you.
Starring Stargrove and Stella as playable characters, Ruin of the Reckless supports both singleplayer and co-op play styles, and promises varied gameplay comprised of dashing, spell casting, card collection, and a skill-based progression system. The key game features are as follows:
- A difficult and fast paced action rogue-like focused on exploration and melee combat.
- Randomly generated challenges that change with every attempt.
- A mysterious story centered on the purpose and origin of the ruins and the spirits that are trapped there.
- A dangerous, thoughtful, action packed world filled with weapons, traps, secret passageways, powerful artifacts, fearsome enemies, and more.
- Co-operative play.
Ruin of the Reckless is scheduled for release on April 26 for PC (Steam, Itch.io) at a price of $14.99 USD.
