Alternative 2D Rogue-like GoNNER looks Tough, Twisted and Terrific

Diamond in the rough.

With Steam’s Winter Sale springing into motion comes an influx of games at heavily discounted prices. GoNNER, Art in Heart’s procedurally generated 2D rogue-like, is one such game. Behind the platforming gameplay lies a strange tale of friendship between an amorphous creature named Ikk, and Sally, a landbound whale.

GoNNER promises a challenging gameplay experience with randomly generated daily levels, a range of passive and active abilities to unlock, and a slew of secret areas that will allow players to access special items at the beginning of each run.

Since the game first arrived on Steam, it has been updated with a bunch of post-launch content like new weapons, graphical enhancements, and performance upgrades to boost FPS.

GoNNER is currently available through Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, Bundle Stars, and Green Man Gaming for PC, Mac and Linux. To get a feel for GoNNER’s gameplay, make sure to watch the launch trailer here.
