League of Legends Declared the Most Played PC Game in the World
Riot Games’ title beats World of Warcraft in terms of hours played.
A recent report by DFC Intelligence has revealed that Riot Games' action RTS League of Legends is the most played PC game in the world in terms of hours played with over a billion hours clocked.
"The fact that online games such League of Legends eclipsed more than a billion hours of online game time in a year is simply incredible and a testament to the fundamental shift currently sweeping through the games industry," DFC Intelligence CEO David Cole mused, adding,"By comparison, Bungie recently announced that the Halofranchise surpassed two billion hours of online play, but that's over a period of seven years."
To take a look at the numbers, here are the Top Ten Games by hours played according to DFC and Xfire:
|Title||Total US/EU play hours July 2011 thru Jun 2012|
|League of Legends||1,292,502,456|
