Bethesda Won’t Officially Announce Elder Scrolls VI Until It’s Close to its Release Date
We won’t see a new Elder Scrolls game for a couple of years by the looks of it.
Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls franchise can be seen as one of the reasons PC gaming and the industry as a whole is where it’s at right now.
Even though Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a couple of years old, millions of people play it regularly to this day, and almost all of them want a new game. Bethesda’s Pete Hines recently spoke with PC Gamer, and discussed the possibility of them revealing a new Elder Scrolls game. He clearly explained that “you’re not going to be hearing first details on [The Elder Scrolls VI] years before the game comes out, absolutely not.”
Anything we want to do from a PR-marketing perspective always has implications on the devs, right? Whether that’s trying to capture video or trying to put together a demo: it’s an additional ask above and beyond just working on the game. You’re not going to be hearing first details on [The Elder Scrolls VI] years before the game comes out, absolutely not.
As for the meantime, we can just wait for the upcoming Skyrim: Special Edition releasing in October for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
