After a leak yesterday, the sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us was officially announced today.

Injustice2HeaderYesterday, a leak of a promotional poster for Injustice 2 was spotted online. After a strong reaction from Ed Boon seemingly confirming the leak, today we get the official announcement trailer for the game.

The trailer has Superman fighting against The Flash. But then Batman comes in, sticks a grenade on him, and seems to finish off Flash for good. It turns into an all out brawl. Superman prepares his heat vision attack on Batman, but then Supergirl counters it with a heat vision attack of her own.

“In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games,” said Creative Director Ed Boon.  “We’re always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customize and level-up their favorite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap.”

The story continues from Injustice: Gods Among Us, with Batman and friends trying to stop Superman’s empire. New villains such as Gorilla Grodd and Atrocitus will appear as you battle across Metropolis, Atlantis, Gotham City, and other places.

Injustice 2 will arrive to PS4 and Xbox One in 2017. For updates in the meantime, check out their website, Facebook, and Twitter.
