While it’s not surprise that Respawn Entertainment is working on a sequel to its 2014 debut game Titanfall, the follow-up project has not yet been officially revealed. Now, however, it appears that retailer GameStop has begun advertising the shooter at its stores. This may suggest an official announcement is on the horizon.

Titanfall 2 does not appear on the GameStop’s website if you search for it at present.
Titanfall 2 development was confirmed a year ago and publisher EA has said the game will launch at some point between October 1st, 2016 and March 31st, 2017. Even so, neither Respawn nor EA has made an official announcement of the title. By all accounts, Titanfall 2 will be released on PlayStation 4. The original game was exclusive to PC and Xbox platforms. Specific launch systems have not been announced.
Earlier this month, the game’s release date appeared to have been accidentally leaked by toy-maker MacFarlane, who announced a new line of toys based on Titanfall would be released this year to coincide with the launch. EA was quick to state that MacFarlane’s date related only to the toy line and not the game.
Lead writer Jesse Stern recently confirmed in an interview that Titanfall 2 will have a single-player campaign, explaining that Respawn simply didn’t have the resources to make one for the original game. The game is said to be inspired by conflicts including the American Revolution and Civil War but set against the same sci-fi setting as the original.
Stern also revealed that a Titanfall television series in production at Lionsgate TV.
We’ll keep you updated in case EA or GameStop have anything to say about the ad.
