Update: less than an hour after publishing this, Itagaki confirmed he will be at E3:
Again, consider that Itagaki has been straightforward talking to fans thus far, including not answering questions when inconvenient. In any case, we can look forward to a good showing from Nintendo for this year's event.
Original story appears unedited below:
New Devil’s Third teases have appeared, fresh from the official site and straight from Tomonobu Itagaki himself.
First off, the official site uploaded a record 88 new pictures for the game. These include not only screenshots of the game in action, but character models, map previews, and most impressively, the gorgeous loading screen art, one of which is our cover image. You can check out these images at the bottom of this article.
While release dates have been announced for Europe, Australia, and Japan, no word has arrived yet from Nintendo of America. Gamefly may have been hasty, but they have placed a listing for the game giving it the same release date as Europe and Australia; August 28.
Of course, retailers are as likely to guess these release dates as they are to have the actual information. However, a recent comment from Itagaki may clue us in on what to expect from NoA.
As you can see, Itagaki has blithely stated that US gamers will see in the near future. Now, one must consider Itagaki’s past statements in this matter. If other developers are deliberately trying to throw fans off with fake teasers, like Platinum Games, or overstating their teases too frequently, like Three Dog, Itagaki has been stoic in the face of frequent questioning by fans.
Last February, he asked fans to simply trust Nintendo, but a month later, he teased he would be returning to E3. Itagaki did join the Nintendo Treehouse Live event at E3 2014 to show off Devil’s Third.
All this points to only one possible conclusion; Devil’s Third will be at this year’s Nintendo E3 presentation as well.
