Bungie Cancels Curse Of Osiris Live Stream

Instead, expect an address from Bungie leadership tonight.

Bungie is canceling the much anticipated Curse of Osiris live stream (which was set to showcase upcoming equipment, cosmetics, and missions) in order to address the player experience of Destiny 2.

In a blog post community manager DeeJ stated that instead of the DLC stream, players will be hearing from management regarding moving forward.

‘Tomorrow, we had planned to conduct the final stream prior to the launch of “Curse of Osiris” to show off some of the weapons and armor the expansion includes. Instead, we are investing all our efforts into delivering some higher priority information about Destiny 2. You’ll hear from studio leadership about their assessment of Destiny all up, they’ll talk about our goals for the game going forward, and you’ll also learn about how we’re reacting to your feedback with some game updates that will arrive in the next few weeks.’

Tensions have been rising steadily in the Destiny 2 community, specifically  Long-term issues with Destiny 2’s token economy, end-game content, bugs and balance. However, everything blew up over the weekend when players discovered a hidden system which slowed progress towards your next free Bright Engram reward.

I’ve never experienced a time of such tension between developers and gamers, what with loot boxes becoming a staple in modern gaming and now exploits to slow down experience. If only we could go back to a simpler time where we got what we paid for.
