3D Fighting Game Gundam Versus Getting Western Release After All

The popular giant robot series expands its audience.

Early last month, Bandai Namco announced a Japanese release date for anime-inspired 3D fighting title, Gundam Versus. At the time, there was no word on a Western version, but a recent press release from Bandai Namco Entertainment America has now confirmed that a US release is imminent.

This marks the Gundam series’ home console debut outside of Japan. The explosive 2v2 and 3v3 team-based gameplay has been rebuilt from the ground up, specifically for PlayStation 4, and lets players take control of a selection of 90+ Mobile Suits which come loaded with unique weapon systems and new mobility options. Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing for Bandai Namco Entertainment America is excited to be launching the series to a new market:

“For more than 35 years the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise has fostered a highly engaged and energetic community…We are excited to release GUNDAM VERSUS to those fans eager for more Mobile Suit Gundam releases in the West, as well as introducing the franchise a brand new expanded audience.”

Gundam Versus will launch this fall exclusively for PlayStation 4.
