It’s a little known fact that Minecraft’s worlds aren’t made up of fairy dust and magical incantations. For a fact, there’s some serious mathematical algorithms that determine how a world is shaped, and these worlds can in fact be shared through the use of ‘seeds’ which, when entered during a world’s creation, determine how that world is formed.
By default, the game grabs the current system time as the basic input for the starting values of a world and runs with that. However those seeds can be influenced, they can be copied and pasted into Minecraft’s underlying code, and thus renders the players able to go and recreate worlds.
On the countless Minecraft forums and wikis and websites out on the web, the community has a habit of collecting and sharing the best and most interesting seeds. Here we present a selection of outstanding seeds you can use to create the most stunning Minecraft worlds.
It is just a small collection you can use to create some interesting “naturally occurring” Minecraft worlds on the PC for the latest version of the game: Minecraft 1.11.2. Keep in mind that Minecraft has roughly 380 trillion unique and different worlds. This is really just a small selection. We can’t even count that high.

A series of survival-style islands out in the middle of the vast ocean. All the islands are medium-sized, with pigs / cows and plenty of wood and other resources to keep you going. There’s grasslands to use for farms, and more islands are visible from each location, making this totally viable survival island seed. There’s even an Ocean Monument located in the water.
Spawns right next to a beautiful Mesa biome, with all the reds, yellows, oranges, and whites visible in the steep canyons and narrow routes. There are plenty of places to build an impressive stronghold, with caves cut into the tall mountains with a great view of the nearby deserts and forests.
This packed seed includes a swamp mineshaft at spawn (which doesn’t sound very appealing) and a fancy little village situated in a roofed forest biome. The thick tree cover makes this tiny town hard to spot, but once you find it, you’ll never want to leave. This simple, country living is for anyone that wants to take residence in a secret town to call their own.
Find the cozy roofed village at this location: X: -247 Y: 71 Z: 275.
Want to explore an End City? Here’s a good start. These alien structures aren’t so easy to locate, but the Youtuber above helpfully has provided coordinates to put you on the path to find these awesome Endertowns.

Want things to feel a little bit like Christmas in your Minecraft world? Relive the holidays with this festive Holiday-inspired seed, where you’ll find a snowy village at spawn, complete with igloos. That’s right, you’ll have your choice of cozy village homes and igloos built right next to the frozen water. It isn’t often you see igloos so close to a village, and that makes this seed worthwhile all on its own.
Explore a village infested with zombie villages in this simple seed. The village next to the spawn doesn’t just look cool, and it isn’t just next to a taiga biome dotted with igloos, it’s also completely invaded with zombies. This is a zombie-only village, so if you’re feeling like fighting off the undead and claiming the town for yourself, here’s your chance. There’s also a mineral-filled fissure on the edge of town, perfect for a quick spelunking adventure.
Enjoy a double-dose of new PC content with this seed, parking you near a Woodland Mansion dungeon. The mansion is visible in the far distance, south of the spawn are, so crank up the draw distance to spot the spooky abode in the giant mushroom forest. As an added bonus, the woodland clearing spawn area is filled with llamas!
Enjoy an Igloo right at the spawn location. Polar Bears are now common spawns in arctic areas, so if you’re looking for a cold adventure with a few furry friends, this is a great way to get started. There’s a small forest nearby, icey water, and plenty of snow to craft snowballs for friendly firefights.
This beautiful naturally-occurring village appears right at the spawn location. Near a forest and settled down hill from a verdant dale, this jam-packed village should have more than enough supplies to last you the long winters. There are multiple farms to take advantage of too. Nothing particularly amazing here, but very useful for getting started.
This bountiful seed features 5+ villages, 8+ temples, and plenty of loot you can find within 1,000 steps from your spawn point. It might look barren, but poke around and you’ll find plenty of places to explore with a variety of biomes right within reach.

- Or explore 476 , -815 to find two temples right next to each other, near a village.
Enter “desert” into the seed generator to receive extreme mountains! Apparently those mountains have a lot of similarities to the way alpha and beta Minecraft generated them.
A seed with some extreme caves, filled with cleanly executing mine shafts, tons of new, 1.6 update material and deep, dark, crazy ravines that open to the overworld.
